HTC has launched the HTC One E8, which introduces new materials and colours to the HTC One family.

Jack Yang, President, HTC South Asia said, “The HTC One E8 had set a new smartphone standard and now we’re taking it in another exciting direction. Combining style and substance, the HTC One E8 represents the incredible experience people expect from a HTC One device, with a look and feel that’s unlike anything else out there today. If you’re looking for the best flagship smartphone experience and want to stand out from the crowd, this is the phone for you.”

The 5″ HTC One E8 sports a dual curve design in a light polycarbonate unibody, and has a full HD, borderless display, a 2,600 mAh battery, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard memory and expandable SD storage capacity.

HTC’s Motion Launch technology enables the HTC One E8 to detect position and movement, allowing users to interact with the phone even without turning on the screen. Motion Launch allows users to check for notifications and receive calls even with the HTC Dot View case is covering the screen. Both the 5MP (front-facing) wide-angle and 13MP (rear-facing) cameras support full 1080p HD video recording.

The HTC One E8 will be available in Singapore from Saturday, July 26, 2014 at SingTel, StarHub, M1, and selected retailers, for a recommended retail price of S$658 for the 16 GB version.

The HTC One E8 launched in Singapore the same day as Xiaomi’s Mi4 in Beijing. According to Channel NewsAsia, the Mi4 is Xiaomi’s first 4G phone. The handset has a 5-inch, 1080p screen, front and rear cameras, and a 3,080mAh Lithium-ion battery, as well as a new MIUI v6 operating system. The 16 GB version will cost approximately US$320 (S$400).
